What Trinity’s Doing Over Summer Vacation

Mather Quad is under construction for the duration of the summer. Here’s what it will look like by the first day of classes for the fall semester!

Congrats on Commencement, Class of 2012!

It seems like only days ago that we were snapping photographs as the Class of 2015 moved in. Now they’ve closed the books on their first two semesters of college as we built Trinity’s next class of first-year students.

It’s never easy to say goodbye, but as someone once told me, the Trinity experience lasts you a lifetime.

Here are just a few photos to highlight Commencement activities…

Tent City is one of the best traditions here at Trinity. Graduates rent tents in groups of friends, roommates, and teammates and celebrate their academic accomplishment. It’s a short walk from our Quad down the hill after you’ve received your diploma. Friends, family, professors, staff, and of course, the graduates themselves, enjoy the last bit of time they have on campus in style!

Here’s one of our Admissions superstars, Kathryn. She’s a former tour guide, SAA, and Bantam Blogger. I guess we can now add “Trinity alumna” to the list! Before the close of Senior Week, she stopped by our office to thank us for an incredible four years at Trinity. We’ve had a great time working with Kathryn over the past few years, and will miss all of her colorful commentary and great ideas. Congratulations Kathryn, we couldn’t be more proud! And in case you’re wondering, she’s holding her college admission essay…how cool is that?!

A to Zee.

Recognize these two? Here are Zee and I, the youngest cohort of Team TrinColl Admiss. He graduated with a Master’s in American Studies…a double Trinity alum! Way to go Zee!

Congratulations to the Class of 2012!

Thank You!

If you’ve visited campus over this past year, chances are you met with one of our Student Admissions Associates for an interview, or were shown around our beautiful & historic campus by a tour guide or two!

Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours

We’ve talked a lot this year about the written word: the all-important essay, letters of recommendation, pages and pages of application files, admissions decisions, and now it’s time for one more.

We’ve passed the May 1st deadline, so all those enrollment cards you’ve signed are here in our office. They tell us that you’ve accepted our offer to become a part of the Class of 2016.

Welcome to the Trinity family!

The Last Lap

Here’s our Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid, Larry Dow ’73, signing each and every acceptance letter yesterday afternoon! All told, it took him a few hours…and a lot of blue ink!

Decisions will be available on our website tomorrow afternoon.

Congratulations to all of our future members of Trinity’s Class of 2016!

A BIG Week Ahead

If there’s one thing I’m sad about, it’s that the end of our reading season means I must relinquish my official bin. A good number of applications have moved in and out of that bin since December because one of my many duties as an officer is to craft personalized offers of admission. That’s right: I spent a good portion of my days behind the scenes, reaffirming the qualities, activities, and talents that you’ve written about have in fact made you stand out in the crowd.

My bin might be gone until next year, but that can only mean one thing: decision day is right around the corner!

Just three days to go…

We’re Half Way There

From the official start of the reading season, Committee marks the halfway point before decisions are released. Do you ever wonder what it’s like for admissions officers during this point of the process?

Although every institution operates in a different way, one thing is a constant: applications!

Are you an applicant for the Class of 2016? There’s a pretty big chance that your application is somewhere in one of these bins!

I can’t give away all our secrets, but…our Committee process has begun. With less than three weeks until decisions are released, we are busy combing through thousands of folders (no exaggeration there!).

Folders, folders, and more folders! Sometimes I wonder how our process would be different if we went paperless. There would certainly be a lot less heavy lifting!

Now it’s back to Committee as we finalize decisions for the Class of 2016.
Less than three weeks to go, so I’m livin’ on a prayer!

Two Down, One to Go!

Early Decision 2 decisions were released this morning to all of our applicants. For the first time, students were notified electronically! They also will receive a printed letter via postal mail.

Congratulations to all of our ED 2 applicants, who are now officially a part of the Class of 2016!
