</em>Wright holds the Orvil E. Dryfoos Chair in Public Affairs and is a Professor of Geography at Dartmouth College where he&#8217;s worked since 1985. He chaired the Department of Geography for ten years and served as Associate Dean of Faculty for the Social Sciences as well as Coordinator of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program at the College. He currently edits the Annals of Association of American Geographers, the flagship journal of the discipline in the United States. Professor Wright teaches classes on immigration, racial segregation, and global processes. He was a Guggenheim Fellow in 1998. His work on mixed-race households seeks to understand the effect of racially segregated spaces on mixed-race household residential location, the effects of these spaces on the identity of children of mixed-race couples, and the role that racial mixing plays in remaking urban racial geography in the United States.  His work on immigration tackles issues of labor and housing market access, migration, and the racialization of immigrants (and the native born). He&#8217;s written about 70 scholarly papers on these topics.</p>

Prior to her roles at Dartmouth (2011 – present) and Colgate, Dean Johnson served, from 2000 to 2006, as assistant dean for student affairs at the University of Michigan Law School, and, before that, was the law school’s director of academic services, beginning in 1997. At Michigan, she collaborated with faculty to create new interdisciplinary academic programs. She was also a member of the legal and communications strategy teams that contributed to the defense of the university’s admissions policies in the landmark 2003 Supreme Court case upholding affirmative action in higher education.<em></em></p>

<p><strong></strong><strong>As a member of CHAS</strong> you will receive:<br />
Registration fee for a team of 6 participants (preferably 4 students, one administrator, and one faculty member).<br />
<strong>Any additional participants</strong> (beyond the 6 who are covered) require a registration fee of $60.00 each and you are responsible for making <em>all</em> of your own hotel arrangements (see Hotel Information link).<br />
<strong>Non-members of CHAS</strong> are required to pay a registration fee of $150.00 per person, and are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements.</p>

<p>Claremont is located about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains and it is within traveling distance of four main airports: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Ontario Airport, John Wayne Airport (SNA), &amp; Burbank Airport. Ontario Airport is the closest in distance to Pomona College and it is recommended that participants fly into this airport.</p>
