Some of these tools, like the weekly announcements email that we delivered on Wednesday mornings, were intended as temporary measures while a new announcements system was created. Today we are writing to introduce <span data-contrast=\"auto\">an online campus-information ecosystem\u2014<strong>Trinity Today<\/strong>.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Trinity Today\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">comprises several components:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/trinitytoday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">redesigned website information-hub<\/a><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0that contains\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">announcements, events<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0calendars<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and other campus communications resources<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"5\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A tool for faculty and staff to publish <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/trinitytoday\/announcements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announcements<\/a><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true}\"> (using WordPress within the Trinity Today site)<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"5\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">An events calendar<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (already launched, with <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">versions for the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/events.trincoll.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">public<\/a> and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/events.trincoll.edu\/campus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">campu<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">)<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"5\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A daily <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">campuswide<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">email containing announcements, all the day&#8217;s events (drawn from what&#8217;s published on the calendar), and a small selection of upcoming events (looking seven days out).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are some more details about the tools.<\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Announcements<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">With this new system, faculty and staff can post their own announcements.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> This method replaces the process of emailing <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">announcements to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the Communications Office\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">for publication.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Announcements are published on our new announcements site and daily in the <em>Trinity Today<\/em> email<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<h5>How to Post Announcements<\/h5>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Any staff member or member of the faculty can post their own announcements. Our office will work with folks across campus to provide in-person training sessions. In the meantime, as folks get up-to-speed, we&#8217;ll continue to support you and ensure your announcements get published. If you&#8217;re ready to get started, <a href=\"mailto:communications-office@trincoll.edu\">please email us<\/a> and we&#8217;ll get you up and running.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Students who need to post announcements should work with their faculty or staff member liaison, or <a href=\"mailto:communications-office@trincoll.edu\">be in touch with the Communications Office<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><strong>What&#8217;s considered an announcement?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Announcements are defined as information for broad distribution that is not an event. If your information can be <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">published<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> on a calendar, it cannot be duplicated as an announcement. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">During the temporary period without a calendar and announcements tools, we relaxed the distinction between announcements and events. In our\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/communications\/2018\/11\/30\/results-from-the-campus-communications-survey\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">campus communications survey<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, you were clear that you wanted the daily <em>Trinity Today<\/em> emails to return. Starting the second week of March, each day during the academic year (and periodically during the summer) you will receive an automated email that includes: <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"4\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All the campus events happening that day<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"4\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A small selection of upcoming events\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true}\"> (looking seven days out)<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"4\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/trinitytoday\/announcements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announcements<\/a><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The email will be delivered every morning&#8211;before you start your day&#8211;and the content comes directly from items that are published on the events calendar and the announcements site.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Trinity Today Website<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/trinitytoday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trinity Today website<\/a> is the hub of all your internal communications resources. Here you can find <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">campus\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">announcements, events,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">college news, and other campus information resources. All of the parts of our internal communications ecosystem roll up into this site. Think of this website as your North Star for campus <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">information<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Of course we will continue to improve this site based on your feedback and as new resources become available. If you have and idea or would like to share your feedback, <a href=\"mailto:communications-office@trincoll.edu\">we&#8217;d love to hear from you<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A Note About\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Global Email Lists<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">While we worked to rebuild Trinity Today<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, the Communications Office temporarily relaxed access and use of the global email lists.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0This was done to accommodate the missing announcements tools and campus events calendar.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Now that these tools are in place<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, use of the global email lists will return to a limited number of senders for non-promotional purposes (college business). <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Thank You to Our Campus Partners<\/h3>\n<p>Redeveloping Trinity Today has been a community effort, and we&#8217;re grateful for the dedication of our partners who have helped us shape a suite of tools and resources to support an improved internal communications environment. The <a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/communications\/2018\/10\/01\/communications-advisory-group\/\">Communications Advisory Group<\/a> led the process to <a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/communications\/2018\/11\/30\/results-from-the-campus-communications-survey\/\">determine the campus&#8217;s communications preferences<\/a>, and the group&#8217;s members have provided insight and guidance throughout the process. Additionally, Information Services has worked incredibly hard to develop and implement the announcements tools, the Trinity Today website, and the <em>Trinity Today<\/em> email.<\/p>\n<p>Our work here isn&#8217;t done, and we will continue to ensure that our campus communications tools are meeting the needs of our community.
