{"id":1637,"date":"2021-08-12T16:29:13","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T20:29:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/isep\/?page_id=1637"},"modified":"2021-08-12T16:39:30","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T20:39:30","slug":"1637-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/isep\/1637-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Bingham on 90 degree rhythmic coordination"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have just published a paper at EBR Online First that many members of ISEP may find of interest. &nbsp;The title is \u201cThe role of intentionality in the performance of a learned 90\u00b0 bimanual rhythmic coordination during frequency scaling: &nbsp;data and model\u201d. &nbsp;The initial studies done by Scott Kelso and colleagues entailed spontaneous mode transitions (180\u00b0 to 0\u00b0) occurring during frequency scaling. &nbsp;To our knowledge, the current study is the first investigating frequency scaling with a learned coordination. &nbsp;The catch here is that a switch from 90\u00b0 to 0\u00b0 or 180\u00b0 would entail a change in information. &nbsp;There is also a question as to the role of correction. &nbsp;Is spontaneous transition possible, as would be captured by a strictly continuous time dynamical model? &nbsp;If nothing else, one sees how these problems become increasingly complicated. &nbsp;In the end, a truly perception\/action dynamical model does the trick!
