The area of concentration for my Educational Studies major is Race, Class, and Inequality. For my senior research project in Educational Studies, I chose to explore parent-school involvement among residents of a public housing community in the city of Hartford.
The process of initiating and conducting research challenged me to put into practice the analytical skill set that I have been developing throughout my college career. I interviewed 11 public housing residents for this project and analyzed my findings. Through this project, I learned how to “harmonize” my research question with my data set. I hope to continue developing this study in 2015.
