Searching for music and video in the catalog

There is now a special Music & Media search “skin” for the catalog, which makes finding media materials much quicker and easier! You can reach this new page by going to: http://catalog.trincoll.edu/vwebv/searchBasic?sk=mms or, by going to the catalog as you normally would, and then finding the link in the bottom gray bar that says “Search Music & Media.”

Unlike the regular catalog search, the Media search skin allows users to set format limits at the beginning of the search instead of on the results page. It also offers only a few fields to search within – Title Begins with, keyword, and keyword Boolean – that are used most often for media materials. We anticipate that this will alleviate some of the confusion that arises from having multiple formats in the catalog, as well as cut down on the number of keystrokes required to find material in media formats. Please feel free to leave feedback by emailing: library-feedback@trincoll.edu .

Library catalog on your mobile phone

A mobile-friendly version of the library catalog is now available!

How do I find it?

You can access the mobile version of the catalog any of these ways:

  • Type http://catalog.trincoll.edu/?sk=mobile into your browser
  • Click on the “Mobile-friendly” link at the top of the library catalog
  • Click on the “Catalog Search” link on our mobile web site (http://library.trincoll.edu/m)

Why can’t I do everything I can do in the regular catalog?

The mobile version of our catalog is designed for viewing and navigating on the smaller screens of cell phones and other mobile devices. At this time, it is intended as a search tool, without all the bells and whistles of the full catalog. If we see that it is being used frequently, we will develop it further, adding My Account and Email this item features.
