I do data. I work with data to help my institution understand itself better and make wise pedagogical, curricular, and organizational decisions. I also work with data to help students make better educational and career decisions. I teach in a data context. I used to think of myself teaching about data, but now I think about myself teaching with data. Finally, I really just want to help people, especially people who need to collect or interpret data, but who are not quite sure how to go about it.
