In this writing assignment we were asked to argue if something evil can simultaneously be beautiful. Specifically, we had to respond to Mary Devereaux’s essay: “Beauty and Evil: Leni Riefenstahl’s Triumph of the Will”. Triumph of the Will is a Nazi propaganda movie from 1935.

I took my first drawing class as a freshman in college. The final assignment was to draw your self portrait from a candid photograph. To try and create a realistic depiction, I used a grid on both the photograph and the drawing. The grids were proportional through a specific ratio. I decided to keep the grid partially visible so as to show a contrast between the first and last step of the drawing.
