My name is Rachel Kaminer and I am from Seattle, Washington. I am currently am a Junior at Trinity College, majoring in Human Rights and Political Science. I chose Trinity for many reasons, but most importantly for its great academic reputation and gorgeous campus. Coming from Seattle, Trinity was a big change and adjustment for me. The weather, the people, and the overall vibe in Connecticut differs drastically from Seattle. An even bigger change, however, occurred in the this last semester. Instead of across the country, I am now across the world. I am currently studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain. Coming here has been one of the best experiences of my life and I have completely fallen in love with the city. Moving forward, I know I can apply my experiences to my future. When I return back to Trinity for senior year, I will be completing all of my requirements and graduating in the fall. After, I plan on hopefully moving to Spain (or somewhere else in Europe) for a couple years and teaching English or being a part of some other abroad program!

Reverse Culture Shock

For me, this is America, specifically Trinity, Seattle, and other places I am familiar with. Places that I know, with people that I now. Coming to Barcelona has changed that. While initially everything was new and scary,…

5 Things I Love About Barcelona

1. The people: the people of Barcelona are very friendly, outgoing, forward, and attractive 2. The food: I have yet to eat something here I did not enjoy. It is all very unique and different from anything I have had in the States 3. The beach: aside from its beauty, I often go to the…
