On Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, The Trinity College Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement organized a “Bantam Bazaar,” a large indoor yard sale to raise money to support Haiti in their time of need.  The Bazaar, which consisted of books, clothes, games, food, and other miscellaneous item donated by the Trinity community, raised over $1,600, and is part of a series of fundraising initiatives taken by members of the community.  Items that did not sell were donated to local charities.  Two organizations have been designated for Trinity’s fundraising efforts — Haitian Ministries of the Diocese of Norwich and Partners in Health.<\/p>\n

“We had never done anything like the Bantam Bazaar before, but with the urgency of Haiti’s need, we ran with it,” Lindsey Eichler, organizer of the event, said. “What a wonderful thing it was to see so many different members of the Trinity Community come together not only to make it possible, but also to make it a fun event and successful fundraiser.
