The idea originated with Kristin Duquette \u201913, a human rights major.\u00a0 According to Duquette and Sean Snyder \u201913, who is also a human rights major and an organizer of the event, \u201cA Day in a Wheelchair\u201d was designed to be an empowering and positive experience while shattering the stereotype of what it\u2019s like to be wheelchair-bound.\u00a0 The goal was for members of the campus community to become aware of the accessible routes on campus and realize that having a disability doesn\u2019t impair one\u2019s contributions.\u00a0 For a full set of photographs, visit: <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/SQst7l\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/SQst7l<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Twenty-five members of the Trinity College community spent \u201cA Day in a Wheelchair\u201d to experience what it is like to have a mobility impairment.
