This photo was taken last weekend at The Allan K. Smith Writing Center, which has now held two write-ins at Trinity as part of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).  NaNoWriMo is an organization that encourages writers to dedicate a month (November) to sitting down and writing a 50,000 word novel.  Writers register online at nanowrimo.org and sign in to the region in which they’ll be writing their novel; this provides writers with nearby support, but also adds a competitive aspect as various regions enter word count wars with each other. Trinity College is a part of the “Connecticut: North” region, which has 416 active writers right now, and, as a region, has written 3.5 million words this month.  <\/p>\n

“The goal isn’t perfection, or even, ultimately, to publish, but, rather, to just get people writing,” Alexander Champoux ’11, organizer of the first write-in at Trinity College, said. <\/p>\n
