Pasquale is an independent scholar and research associate with the Institute for the Study of Secularism in Society and Culture, Trinity College, Hartford, CT.\u00a0\u00a0He returned to scholarship focusing on the social scientific study of worldviews and secularity following a career in cross-cultural education, research, and business.\u00a0\u00a0He received his doctorate in cultural anthropology from Northwestern University (1983) and a master\u2019s degree in social psychology from Western Washington University (1975).<\/p>\n<p>His research and writing focus on the social scientific study of worldviews, the variety of nonreligious experience, secularist group affiliates, cultural variations in the salience of the religious-secular distinction, and the relationship between individualism, religiosity, and secularity in the United States.\u00a0\u00a0His work has appeared in journals such as the\u00a0<em>Archive for the Psychology of Religion<\/em> and<em>Religious Humanism,<\/em> in\u00a0<em>Atheism &amp; Secularity<\/em> (Phil Zuckerman, ed., Praeger, 2010),\u00a0<em>The New Encyclopedia of Unbelief<\/em> (Tom Flynn, ed., Prometheus, 2007), ISSSC publications, and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>For contact information email him at flpasquale[at]comcast[dot]net.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Frank L.
