Manuscript Collections]<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Museum-003.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2163\" src=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Museum-003-300x232.jpg\" alt=\"Museum (003)\" width=\"300\" height=\"232\" srcset=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Museum-003-300x232.jpg 300w, http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Museum-003-1024x792.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The survey of the College Archives continues!\u00a0 I happened upon a box on a high shelf that was deteriorating, crumbling, and very heavy.\u00a0 As I pulled it off the shelf the box came apart.\u00a0 I managed to place it in a secure location on another shelf before all of the contents fell to the ground.\u00a0 To my surprise I found over 150 glass plate photographic negatives dating from around 1850-1923. <a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Clements-Room-East-002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2162\" src=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Clements-Room-East-002-300x213.jpg\" alt=\"Clements Room East (002)\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Clements-Room-East-002-300x213.jpg 300w, http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Clements-Room-East-002-1024x727.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>These images include portraits of faculty, campus exteriors, interiors&#8211;including some dorm rooms, track practice, and a photograph of the Cabinet Room in Seabury Hall, which was the college museum.<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Library-in-Williams.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2164\" src=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Library-in-Williams-300x252.jpg\" alt=\"Library in Williams\" width=\"300\" height=\"252\" srcset=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Library-in-Williams-300x252.jpg 300w, http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Library-in-Williams-1024x859.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2015\/10\/Library-in-Williams.jpg 1145w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>With assistance of Naty Bush, a first-year student, and Special Collections Assistant Henry Arenth, we were able to temporarily re-box the slides and evaluate their condition.\u00a0 Next steps include more permanent re-housing and printing the slides.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Posted by Peter Rawson, Associate Curator of Archives &amp;
