The combination of the mountains adjacent to the city is an unbelievable view. He stayed in Ipanema and right in front was an open space where people would walk, jog, or ride their bicycle along the lagoon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/cugs\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1792.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-553\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-553\" src=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/cugs\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1792-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Christ the Redeemer\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/cugs\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1792-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/cugs\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1792-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Completed in 1931, the Christ the Redeemer statue is\u00a0a symbol of Brazil recognized across the world. It is located at the peak of Corcovado Mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park. From Urca, Eli took a second cable car to Sugarloaf. Seeing the city at night made her think about the stark differences between S\u00e3o Paulo and Rio. One is a concrete jungle while the other is a natural wonder.
