About Me

Welcome!  My name is Emily and I am a recent graduate of Trinity College, Hartford Connecticut.  Coming to Trinity in the Fall of 2012, I was unsure of what area I wanted to focus my studies.  After spending my second semester at Trinity observing in a Hartford elementary school classroom, I quickly became passionate about urban educational inequality.  This passion drove my motivation to become an educational studies major, a community mentor for at-risk Hartford middle schoolers, and a volunteer in both American classrooms and classrooms abroad.

I graduated from Trinity in May 2016 magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.  I received a Bachelor of Arts in educational studies earning faculty honors all semesters, and the Richard K. Morris Book Award for Excellence in Education.

My experiences in Hartford, coupled with my passion for education reform will be a platform that I build on as I begin my journey teaching sixth grade as a Teach for America Rhode Island Corps Member at Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy Middle School 1 in the fall of 2016.
