My name is Elaina Rollins and I am currently a senior educational studies and legal studies student at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
As an Ohio native, I came to Trinity because of the College’s strong educational studies department and unique opportunities within the city of Hartford. Over the past four years, I have pursued my interests in teaching and educational policy by volunteering as a guest teacher and teaching assistant in local elementary schools, conducting primary source research on various state education policies, and covering ongoing issues in education reform and child welfare for a local Connecticut news outlet as a published reporting intern.
I will graduate from Trinity as a Presidential Scholar, a President’s Fellow for educational studies, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
This summer, I will begin my journey as a teacher by joining the Achievement First North Brooklyn Prep Elementary School community of educators as a teacher-in-residence. I will also be enrolling in courses at the Relay Graduate School of Education in order earn a Master’s degree in Education.
