These are just a few of the many ‘item numbers’ that you would find in a Bollywood movie. The songs are completely irrelevant to the plot, but are required to promote the movie, and give audiences a reason to watch it. Their over-the-top, unrealistic nature make me believe they could categorized under the camp aesthetic.
Having said that, I enjoy this music a lot simply because it’s bright, loud, pure entertainment, and would recommend that you try it out anyway!
