\n-paste the link in an email to your two group members<\/p>\n
Then, you’ll read:
\n-open the first essay and paste the criteria at the top of the draft
\n-spend 20 minutes reading the first essay, taking notes and marking awkward phrases or faulty grammar
\n-spend 20 minutes doing the same on the next essay<\/p>\n
Finally, you’ll discuss:
\n-spend about 10 minutes discussing each group member’s essay, making sure to focus on the most important things they need to do to improve their draft<\/p>\n
Paste these criteria at the top of your group members’ drafts to guide your feedback. <\/p>\n
Content:
\n1. Does the essay have a specific and debatable thesis that can be distinguished from Graham\u2019s own argument?
\n2. Does the essay contribute to an ongoing conversation about YA fiction by referring to secondary research on the topic (at least one outside source)?
\n3. Are there concrete and detailed examples in every paragraph that support the author\u2019s claim?
\n4. Does the author analyze these examples rather than letting them speak for themselves?<\/p>\n
Style and Structure:
\n1. Is the organization of paragraphs logical and clear? Should the order of paragraphs be reconsidered?
\n2. Are there transitions between sentences? Do the sentences cohere to form focused paragraphs?
\n3. Is the diction highly specific and detailed, or does it rely on generalities?
