I immediately felt engaged in the performances of both Celine Dion and Elliot Smith from the moment I began watching them. Although the two performances differed in appearance, they both had the same effect on the audience, each causing the audience to be engaged in the performance and each having a very similar way of connecting with audience. Although the official videos were entertaining and such, I was drawn into the live performances so much more just because the two singers were singing with so much passion.<\/p>\n
What made Celine Dion’s performance so great was not only that she sang with so much passion, but also the setting of the stage that brought it all together and made it surreal, with the fog spreading all over and the orchestra playing beautifully in the background. Her famous song from Celine would move her arms around from time to time and then bring them back together while closing her eyes, just showing how much passion she truly had while singing to her audience. There’s so much passion when the song is played in the movie the Titanic, and she brought all the passion to the stage that night.<\/p>\n
Elliot Smith’s performance was different in the fact that there was no big orchestra playing alongside him and all he had was an empty stage. All he needed was his guitar and beautiful voice to immediately attract the audience to his performance. Elliot played the guitar and sang so passionately that his performance was just as good as Celine Dion’s without the great stage setting or having to move around.
