This blog reflects the work of students in ENGL 349, “Elizabethan Literature.” Students here practice a digital version of early modern “commonplacing”: the extraction of useful or memorable quotations, and the circulation of those extracts among among a close circle of readers.  This site serves as the digital counterpart to students’ handwritten commonplaces books, a place where they can share their favorite passages and observations, and together build an archive of topics that are of interest to the class, across texts and genres.
