Maya Angelou once said, “It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and strength”. My Name is Edward Franca, and I am a senior at Trinity College whose parents from an early age certainly instilled an appreciation for diversity. Whether it be diversity amongst people or diversity amongst interests, I have always been fascinated by the benefits that come with “variety”. As a member of the Trinity College football team, I am surrounded by members of all different races as well as individuals with all different skill sets, who pride themselves on working together to achieve one common goal. As a political science major I have become extremely passionate about what diversity can bring us as a nation. While my football career may be over, my interests are only continuing to grow. I hope to attend law school in the fall of 2014, where I can convert these interests into a career not only beneficial for me, but optimistically for others as well.
This portfolio was created in the hopes of showing the variety in my interests through the use of my scholarly writing, work experience, service in the community, and more. I hope it provides you with a closer look at who I am, and what I am about.
