P\u00e9rez began work as vice president for enrollment and student success on June 1, while Joseph J. DiChristina started on July 20 as dean of campus life and vice president for student affairs.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1865\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1865\" style=\"width: 154px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/reporter-fall2015\/files\/2015\/10\/Angel.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1865 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/reporter-fall2015\/files\/2015\/10\/Angel.jpg\" alt=\"Angel\" width=\"154\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1865\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success Angel Perez <br \/>Photo by John Marenelli<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>P\u00e9rez is responsible for the areas of admissions, financial aid, institutional research and planning, career development, and student retention.\u00a0He also conducts research on noncognitive measures that predict student success.\u00a0His goal is to admit a talented and diverse class\u00a0while using research and best practices to ensure their success. He comes to Trinity from Pitzer College in Claremont, California, where he served as vice president and dean of admission and financial aid.\u00a0Throughout his career, he has served in secondary and higher education leadership positions on both coasts of the United States and travels globally to speak on issues of American education.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e9rez earned a B.S. from Skidmore College, an M.A. from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University. He is the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship, among other distinctions, and is the author of numerous articles. P\u00e9rez\u2019s appointment followed the announcement in summer 2014 of the retirement of Larry Dow \u201973, Trinity\u2019s former dean of admissions and financial aid.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1853\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1853\" style=\"width: 154px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/reporter-fall2015\/files\/2015\/10\/Joe.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1853 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/reporter-fall2015\/files\/2015\/10\/Joe.jpg\" alt=\"Joe\" width=\"154\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1853\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dean of Campus Life and Vice President for Student Affairs Joseph DiChristina<br \/> Photo by Richard Bergen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>DiChristina comes to Trinity from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, where he served as dean of students since 2001. There he managed operations and guided planning for 16 student life departments and was the founding director of that college\u2019s award-winning Center for Experiential Learning. Previously, he served at Oberlin College in Ohio in several areas, including residential life, campus safety and security, and student activities, before being appointed associate dean of students.<\/p>\n<p>DiChristina earned a B.S. in biochemistry from Beloit College and a master\u2019s degree in higher education from the University of Akron.
