I enjoyed taking classes I was interested in, making new friends, and playing college hockey.

How would you describe yourself now? I am still as motivated to be as successful academically and athletically as I was as a first-year. However, my focus is now changing as I try to plan my life after graduation. I am saddened to be leaving everything I love about Trinity and am enjoying everything I can, but I am also ready for the next chapter of my life!

Which course has been your favorite? Why? I loved “Animal Physiology,” which was taught by Dr. Kent Dunlap. He did such a great job helping his students fully understand the physiological intricacies of each organism and why a particular organism possesses certain traits. His lectures were much more engaging than merely repeating information from a textbook. Dr. Dunlap also helped me learn how a scientist properly looks for answers, which has been valuable in all of my classes. Although the course was challenging, it was an extremely satisfying class.

Which professor has influenced you the most? Why? Dr. Lisa-Anne Foster has been my adviser since my first semester at Trinity. She has made my Trinity experience so extraordinary. I began doing research in her lab after my sophomore year and am now writing my honors thesis on that same research! She is a fantastic professor and mentor who has guided me both in the classroom and the lab. I cannot imagine my time here without her. She has always been available for whatever I needed, and I will always be grateful for her guidance and support.

What is the most important thing you have learned at Trinity? I have learned to persevere through ups and downs in and out of the classroom by working my hardest to achieve the best possible outcome.

What has been most important to you outside of class? Playing ice hockey, the bonds I have formed with my teammates, and the friendships I’ve made with my roommates and other students.

What is your favorite Trinity memory … so far? Winning the 2015 women’s ice hockey NESCAC Championships, for the first time in program history, with my best friends!

Where do you hope to be in 10 years? I hope to have a family and be a practicing physician (specialty undecided at this point, so ask me in 10 years!).

Major: biology Hometown: Montville, New Jersey Awards and honors during your college career: Trinity Board of Fellows Award — Junior Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year; Barry Goldwater Scholarship nominee; NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team; selected presenter, 2015 American Society for Microbiology Annual Conference; Faculty Honors; vice president, historian, TriBeta Biological Honors Society; American Women’s Hockey Coaches […]
