Key Accomplishments

Chair, Materials and Supplies, Compo Beach Playground Project 2005-2006 –Managed building budget of $450,000 for local playground.  Solicited $150,000 in donated product and nearly $300,000 in procured products at or below cost.

Community Organizer, 2011-2012 – Conceived, organized and produced a blanket donation campaign to benefit 46 disadvantaged families and children.  Solicited and received blanket donations in direct reflection of action taken by consumers; with a 1:1 ration of actions that benefited those in need.  This program was beyond the scope of Clean Water Action and the Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge.

Fundraiser, 2012 – Conceived, developed and implemented 40th anniversary benefit for Clean Water Action Connecticut including venue location, invitation design and printing and solicitation of corporate sponsorship.  Received first outside corporate donation for CWA CT.

 

Professional Experience

CLEAN WATER ACTION, Fundraising and Development/Social Media –Hartford, CT        Aug 2012-Present

Clean Water Action is the legislative arm of Clean Water Fund, a national environmental organization that achieves social change through grassroots organizing and legislative advocacy.

  • Successfully raised over $17,000 for a second-year benefit event, tripling the previous year’s net proceeds.
  • Solicited and obtained corporate sponsorship equaling nearly half of raised funds.
  • Proposed and implemented social media campaigns for visibility and brand recognition.  Proposed re-branding efforts for awareness of local and national campaigns run coalitions organized by CWA.

CLEAN WATER ACTION, Community Organizer                                                                        Aug 2011-Aug 2012

  • Lead organizer for four towns in the Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge, a Department of Energy BetterBuildings Neighborhood Program grantee. Developed and implemented community campaign plans across multiple municipalities; setting goals through diverse outreach activities; Conducted public energy efficiency educational workshops designed to get people to take action.
  • Managed Clean Energy Corps staff of 9 assisting in schedule prioritization, mentoring guidance and professional development; addressing conflict resolution, communications, writing and job searching.
  • Lead responsibility in both traditional and social media; conceived and implemented social media campaigns for increased visibility, created social media content and managed applications; created and edited event advisories and media releases
  • Conceived and implemented successful pilot campaigns including giveHES, a residential energy efficiency initiative that managers at the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund have stated will revolutionize their program.
