France for many years has been highly criticized due to the fact that their players are multiracial, so these types of verbal attacks towards Zidane must have been extremely personal and controversial.

– Again, this incident falls of FIFA as well as many other football organizations that simply do not firmly enforce anti-racist movements due to the fact that racist acts have been committed periodically throughout the past few decades.

– Football is the most widely played sport in the world, and with the free movement of players, it is evident that this sport is where the most amount of racial issues will stem from.

Lip reading and the search for ‘hard words’:

-Materazzi’s use of language towards Zidane is just the type of ignorant gesture that unruly fans use in matches to cut down players of different races and ethnicities. And while England hasn’t received many foreign players, numerous other nations such as Portugal have attained various players such as Pepe that chose to represent Portugal even though he was born in Brazil as well as Jerome Boateng who represents Germany even though he was born in Ghana and his brother plays for Ghana.

Acculturation as an experiential facet of glocalization:

-Acculturation seems to be a type of globalization in the sense that players of different races are overlapping with various cultures of differing nations while holding onto their indigenous cultures and meshing the two together.

Stages of the global: Media, sport, racialization and the last temptation of Zinedine Zidane Introduction: -Due to the media in society, it is difficult to watch a sporting event completely disconnected from the media. – The combination of sports and the media are a key component to globalization.
