The Trinity College Black Women’s Organization (TCBWO) will be selling green awareness pins until Friday February 1st, during regular lunch and dinner hours outside of the Mather Dining Hall to help support families, friends and loved ones who were affected by the tragedy at Sandy Hook.  TCBWO has created close ties to the Girls Scouts of Connecticut, and learned over winter break that eight out of the twelve girls whose lives were taken were Girl Scouts, who the Trinity students were expecting to meet that same week.  Pins are $2 apiece.  The funds will be donated toward a general fund that will support counseling services and other costs that resulted from the tragedy.

“It was a solemn and grave day when the Trinity community and the rest of the world heard of this tragedy,” said Taniqua Huguley ’15, President of TCBWO.  “With this hitting so close to home and being so close to our hearts we, TCBWO, would like to show our support and we ask our fellow Trinity community join us in doing the same.”
