Trinity IDP student, Mark Funk, took photos at and around Trinity College, then let his imagination take over. Using oils, Funk painted on plywood and layers of resin an abstract version of each photograph, but replacing a key element of each photo with white space. The idea, says Funk, is to show how the eye translates information based on details, and how that perception may change depending on which details are included and which aren’t.
