As part of the new Outdoor Experiential Education program at Trinity College, students canoed their way through Everglades National Park in southern Florida this winter, camping on beaches and on the famous Everglades Chickee.  On the trip, students learned about the unique ecosystem and how tides effect travel and route planning.

“All participants practiced different approaches to our shared leadership model, preparing meals, navigating, keeping each other safe, minimizing our impact on the environment, and taking turns leading the group,” Kevin Johnson, Director of Quest and Assistant Director of Experiential Education, said. “Through our challenges we all learned a little about ourselves and after our triumphs we learned a lot about one another.” Click here for more on the Outdoor Experiential Education program at Trinity.
