{"id":597,"date":"2012-03-07T15:02:39","date_gmt":"2012-03-07T15:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/?p=597"},"modified":"2012-03-07T15:02:39","modified_gmt":"2012-03-07T15:02:39","slug":"master-class-on-early-italian-books","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/2012\/03\/07\/master-class-on-early-italian-books\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Master Class&#8221; on early Italian books"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2012\/03\/IMG_2205.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-598\" src=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2012\/03\/IMG_2205-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Last night we were happy to host Michelangelo Zaccarello (Universit\u00e0 di Verona), a philologist and expert on book history, who held a two-hour \u201cmaster class\u201d seminar on several early printed books from Italy in the Watkinson&#8217;s collection.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2012\/03\/IMG_2204.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-599\" src=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2012\/03\/IMG_2204-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Professor Dario Del Puppo brought the group together, which included students from both Trinity and UConn.\u00a0 Michelangelo provided a narrative about the history of each book (which included our copy of Galileo\u2019s <em>Diologo<\/em> (1632),\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2012\/03\/gal0002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-600\" src=\"http:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/watkinson\/files\/2012\/03\/gal0002-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a> and why he chose these in particular.
