As part of our ethnography, we routinely attend religious ceremonies and celebration with local faith communities in which refugees participate. For example, whether it’s Muslim Ramadan or the Karen New Year’s celebration, we have observed both multicultural and ethnic community based events in local places of worship. Hartford’s faith communities  have been richly diversified with the participation of refugee members from many different countries and cultures.
