Hartford’s Immigrants and Refugees maintain active translocal contacts linking them to friends and relatives back home and in various cities in New England, around the US, or in other countries where they sojourned on their way to America. Professor Bauer is conducting research on the networks of Hartford refugees tracing their connections to Rochester (NY), Springfield (MA), Burlington (VT), and Manchester (NH).
