Banda Brother Camarada
Founded by Berico (former member of the band Berimbrown), the Banda Brother Camarada is a new proposal of rhythmic fusion that mixes pop with various elements of Black musical styles.  With an exciting repertoire that makes audiences dance, and a strong beat, the sound of Banda Brother Camarada combines soul music, rock, reggae, and Popular Brazilian Music, along with flavors of Afro Beat.
Through its lyrics, the Banda Brother Camarada demonstrates the popular sayings and the realities of the villas and communities of Brazil, and brings together fresh contemporary poetry with revised versions of musical hallmarks, such as the Clube da Esquina (Corner Club), from Minas Gerais, Brazil, which was developed by innovative composers, such as Milton Nascimento.
The Banda Brother Camarada consists of acoustic and electric guitar, bass, keyboard, percussion and DJ, with a mixture of electronic loops, giving a flavor of today’s culture to their work.
Through the lens of the diverse recorded phonographic world, this group is also focused on the world music scene.  The Banda Brother Camarada strives to mix musical genres, culture, poetry, and create a melodious collage of Brazilian sounds.

Gilvan de Oliveira Trio
Gilvan de Oliveira presents “Pearls of Brazilian Music” from the greatest masters through the strings of his guitar, the most widespread instrument on the planet.  The violão, or guitar, as it is known throughout the rest of the world, permeates all styles and musical genres, from the oldest to the most contemporary.
In the repertoire, we encounter the works of Heitor Villa-Lobos, Luiz Gonzaga, Antonio Carlos (Tom) Jobim, Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, Dominguinhos, among others.  Musicality, technique, and emotion unite to present the song style of Gilvan de Oliveira, who is accompanied by the inventive percussion of Serginho Silva, and the vigorous bass of Ivan Correa, bringing together simple sophistication, cultured intuition, andn a harmonic mixture of styles and inspirations.
Gilvan de Oliveira is one of the most prolific Brazilian guitarists from Minas Gerais, Brazil, and the world.  Soloist, singer, composer, arranger, professor and profound scholar of Brazilian music, all comes together from his teachers, his history, and his rhythms.
Gilvan de Oliveira, Serginho Silva, and Ivan Correa demonstrate in this concert the richness, the beauty, the power, the diversity, the greatness, and the power of Brazilian music.
