More than Rice and Beans

   This course studies the culture, history, and politics of Hispanics/Latinos in Hartford.  As a first year seminar, this course introduces students to academic life and research while placing them in active conversation with this important community. We will explore, both in our readings and through class projects, how Hispanic identity, language, race, and religion shape the city, as well as how the community stays together and reshapes the city.
