Daishly Diaz

My name is Daishly Diaz. I was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States when I was around 3 years old. Growing up in New York City I had the opportunity to live in Spanish Harlem in which mostly everyone who lived there was either Dominican, Puerto Rican, Mexican, etc. In this environment, I was able to adjust to the American lifestyle while still keeping my Dominican roots through food, music, and language. In my family, I was always known as “la bailarina” because for every single family event I would always be the only one dancing in the middle of the living room dancing. No matter what song it is, I was always breaking it down on the dance floor.
