Full/Associate and Assistant Professors of Psychology

Clemson’s Department of Psychology invites applications for four tenure-track faculty members. This search includes two positions within the domain of Health Psychology, one in Human Factors Psychology, and one in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

For the Health Psychology positions, one will be filled at the level of Full or Associate Professor,  and one at the level of Assistant Professor. A successful candidate for the former position will be someone who can provide leadership in developing and implementing a new doctoral program in Health Psychology. For both positions, applicants with a research focus on pain, stress, diversity and/or health disparities will be prioritized, but we are also interested in individuals with research interests in addiction, psychopathology, health and aging, neurobiology, or other content areas within Health Psychology that can enhance our departmental expertise.

We are also inviting applications for one tenure-track faculty member with expertise in Human Factors Psychology, and one with expertise in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. For these Assistant Professor positions, we are open as to specific research interests, but successful candidates will be expected to mentor graduate students and to contribute to the research and teaching needs of the department. For the Human Factors position, the specific research focus is open, and we strongly encourage all qualified individuals to apply. At the same time, we would like to highlight a potential collaboration with the Clemson University Media Forensics Hub for any applicants who may have expertise in various forms of online deception (including cybersecurity and disinformation). For the Industrial-Organizational Psychology position, we are especially interested in individuals who can teach graduate level courses in personnel psychology.

All four positions will begin fall of 2023. The ideal candidates will have a strong research orientation with potential for extramural support, and a commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education.

As a faculty member at Clemson University, you will be immersed into a community of scholars committed to fostering diversity and inclusive excellence. We are looking for people whose background or interests align with this commitment. Candidates are welcome to include a statement in this regard in their application.
