Designing a poster takes more effort than copying and pasting a few sections of your paper and adding some graphs. You need to think about what the critical elements are and how best to display them. We have developed these resources to help you through the process. Here, you can download PowerPoint templates in a variety of sizes, see demo poster layouts and get some guidelines on font sizes, graphics and more.
Getting started
- Take a few minutes to view the Posters 101 presentation. This presentation will only take a few minutes and will tell you everything you need to know about good poster design!
- We recommend you create your poster in PowerPoint and save it as a PDF file for printing when you are done.
- Use one of the templates we have created.
- Make sure your slide is sized appropriately before you begin 24×36, 36×48 etc. This is all set in the templates already.
- Visit the LITC B02 computer lab to get some ideas in terms of layout and font sizes from our demo posters on display. See this annotated poster as a reference.
