For the major sections of the poster, we suggest fonts around:

• Title: 85 pt
• Authors: 56 pt
• Sub-headings: 36 pt
• Body text: 24 pt
• Captions: 18 pt

You’ll notice that in this list, 18pt is the lowest recommended font size, even for caption text. You are probably thinking that this seems really large, but when you are standing three to five feet away from a printed poster, 18 pt is almost too small to read.
