Templates

Posters are most commonly 36″ x 48″ or 24″ x 36.” Which size you choose depends on your course’s specific requirements, and how much information you need to display. Also, the larger size costs more.

Your poster can be printed in either portrait or landscape orientation. Check if your course has specific requirements for this; then, consider the type of content you are presenting. Posters with many images, diagrams, charts or other visualizations are often better in landscape; posters with long passages of text can look better in portrait orientation. Try sketching your layout on a piece of paper before you commit to an orientation for your poster.

Posters should adhere to a consistent grid of between three and five columns. The divisions between those columns can be visible or hidden (which you can change by switching the layout of the PowerPoint slide).
