Once you’ve found some members, you need to form a set of guidelines for how the club will work–who is in charge, what everybody’s role is, and how board members will be determined. This document will be your organization’s constitution, and the details will vary from organization to organization. SLE has a template to get you started. SLE also requires that Constitutions are updated at least every 4 years, but it’s a good idea to look over the constitution annually and make changes as necessary. Doing that can save some serious headaches down the road.
