Abstract

Preliminary results of SCUBA and SSA collections of benthic marine algae from the R/V Seahawk cruises of 1983 and 1985 on the Bermuda platform are presented, as are their biogeographic implications. Vast meadows of Stypopodium zonale dominate the deep waters below 20 m in western portions of the islands.

Key words: Bermuda, benthic marine flora, Stypopodium zonale.
