Hartford Youth Scholars (HYS), a nonprofit housed on the Trinity College campus, prepares Hartford middle school students for academic excellence in high school and college. Launched in 2005, HYS offers students access to exceptional educational opportunities through The Collegiate Academy, a 26-month academic enrichment program with Saturday classes during the school year and five-week sessions during the summer. HYS also provides one-on-one guidance for secondary education placement, with the primary aim of finding the best-fit school for each student and family, and continues to support students with high school and college programs that help guide them through to college graduation. Says Executive Director Anthony Byers, “There is no limit to the potential of every single Hartford Youth Scholar.
