Yisbell Marrero es una estudiante declarada en Ciencias Políticas y Estudios Internacionales en su segundo año en Trinity College, silla de servicio comunitario de La Voz Latina, Posse Scholar y actualmente es interna en la Misión de la República Dominicana ante las Naciones Unidas, como forma de mejorar su dedicación a ayudar a la comunidad latina de la ciudad de Nueva York. Después de pasar casi cuatro años, desde los 16 años de edad, trabajando en programas de servicio comunitario y organizaciones hispanas, como la Federación Hispana, La Casa de la Cultura Puertorriqueña, Morgan Lewis & Bockius Firma de Abogados, y con el representante del distrito 11 de Connecticut Jeff Currey, Yisbell sabe lo que realmente impulsa a la comunidad latina, y ella es muy estratégica sobre cómo lograr que se cumplan los derechos de quienes lo merecen. Yisbell dice que se logra con lo bien que se conecta con la gente que ayuda y la comprensión de que esta ciudad ha sido la puerta de entrada a América para tantos inmigrantes esforzándose, lleno de esperanza – gente que dejó todo lo que sabía para buscar en esta tierra, oportunidad.
Yisbell Marrero is a student declared in Political Science and International Studies in her second year at Trinity College, community service chair for La Voz Latina, Posse Scholar and is currently interning at the Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations, as a way to improve their dedication to help the Latino community in New York City. After spending almost four years, from 16 years of age, working in community service programs and Hispanic organizations, such as the Hispanic Federation, The House of Puerto Rican Culture, Morgan Lewis & Bockius Law Firm, and with the district representative 11 Connecticut Jeff Currey, Yisbell knows what really drives the Latino community, and she is very strategic about how to achieve the rights of those who deserve it. Yisbell says that it is achieved with how well it connects with the people who help and the understanding that this city has been the gateway to America for so many immigrants striving, full of hope – people who left everything they knew to (discover and prosper) look for in this (opportunistic land) land, opportunity.
