Trinity College football tri-captain and Academic All-American defensive back Mike Mancini was named as a National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete, only the second Trinity football player to receive the honor. Mancini, a senior neuroscience major, and 16 other finalists vied for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy, given annually to the nation’s top scholar-athlete in all of college football. As a finalist, Mancini received an $18,000 scholarship toward postgraduate study and an additional $5,000 prize for Trinity’s faculty athletics representative to go toward academic support for the College’s Athletic Department.
