For this task, EDUC323 students had to:
- Select a song with relevance to the targeted student population and educational objectives.
- Analyze the song’s title, artist, and lyrics to identify its pedagogical potential.
- Compose a concise memo, modeled after the Stovall (2006) reading and describing the proposed lesson to accompany the chosen song.
- Reference Stovall’s (2006) principles (page 588) in designing a lesson that fosters critical thinking and inclusivity.
- Examine connections to other course readings, illustrating how the song-based lesson plan aligns with broader critical pedagogy concepts.
