It is crucial for schools to have a competent and dedicated staff who can establish and maintain the standards expected from the school community. Having a Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) coordinator or a staff educator focused on increasing equity in schools is a critical variable establishing a critical pedagogy in schools.
Through the research and analysis process we concluded that some school districts have done a great job handling this responsibility and others have failed to establish such a standard. School districts listed below all show evidence of either having a DEI coordinator or have thorough staff training about the importance and execution of equitable teaching.
